Open Capture on the mobile Home screen to record audio and choose its destination Workspace. You can review the recording before sending it. The microphone button in Home, Tasks, Inbox, and Meetings asks Start recording?. Choose Agree & record to open Capture and begin recording, or Cancel to stay on the current screen. Starting a recording inside Capture asks for the same consent. The first recording also asks for microphone permission. The consent confirmation uses the standard OS alert. Before every new recording, agree to recording your audio. If others are present, tell everyone that you will record and obtain their consent before choosing Agree & record. Cancel if you are not ready to confirm. The confirmation also explains that recording continues when you leave the app or lock the screen. While recording, Capture shows Recording with a red dot and elapsed time. The input meter separately shows whether audio is detected. Pausing shows Paused; resuming continues the same recording. Use Stop to end it. The acknowledgment time, wording version, and signed-in account are stored with the local Capture draft before recording starts. This records your acknowledgment of the consent check. It does not verify another person’s consent. The record follows the draft’s existing cleanup lifecycle; it is not a separate permanent consent archive. From Review, the back arrow returns to Capture without discarding the recording or attachments. The close button offers to save or discard the draft. Add context opens a bottom sheet with Photos and File; close it to return to Review.

Record and send audio

1

Open Capture and start recording

Tap Capture, then Start recording. After obtaining everyone’s consent, choose Agree & record. Allow microphone access when prompted.
2

Control the recording

The screen shows elapsed time. Tap Pause and Resume as needed, then Stop.
3

Review and send

Tap Play audio to listen. Tap the Workspace row to choose a destination, then tap Send. The app keeps the audio on your device while it uploads. The resulting transcript and summary appear in Meetings.

Add context to a draft

Photos and File add existing items to the current draft. You can remove each item in Review. Camera and screen capture are currently unavailable.
The current upload service accepts audio only. An added item stays in the saved draft and prevents sending until you remove it. Add to an existing Task and Create a new Task are shown as destination options but cannot be sent yet. Choose Let AI decide to send audio to Meetings.

Continue a saved Capture

After you stop recording, Cogno saves the audio on this device. Close Capture and choose Save for later, then reopen it from Saved Captures. Drafts remain after restarting the app. Imported photos and files can become unavailable; remove the missing item and attach it again. You can keep up to 10 Captures with up to 50 items each. New recordings require enough free space. Cogno reserves 200 MiB of device free space and limits its durable Capture media to 500 MiB when starting another capture. Recordings stop after 60 minutes. Sending freezes the audio draft. Uploads resume when you reopen the app or return to it. Retry now starts another attempt. Cogno deletes its local recording after the server confirms that the audio was accepted into the selected Workspace. AI processing continues on the server.
A recording that is still running when the app is forcibly terminated is not recovered. Keep the app installed until you have sent important recordings. Discard removes the saved Capture from this device.

Audio processing and privacy

Phone Capture is experimental. Its audio transcription uses Google Gemini. Vertex AI uses the current us-central1 (United States) setting; the Gemini API fallback does not provide Japan-only processing. Subsequent workspace summaries and Task generation use Amazon Bedrock in Japan. For the data collected, international transfers, and push notification providers, see the Privacy Policy and Subprocessor List.
