TL;DR

  • Linear can be connected. Each Project picks its Linear teams, Cogno picks up new issues, assignments and comments, and agents can work with issues.
  • Agents read and edit Notion live. They see a page as it is now, query databases, and can create and edit pages and comment.
  • Commands are available in the chat. Type / in a Task’s chat to see commands, Skills, and the session status.
  • Sub-tasks can be folded under their parent. The Task board also shows full titles and supports bulk edit.
  • Background runs have their own model and effort. The chat also gets an effort picker for each turn.
  • Calendar auto-join can skip events. Skip events only you are on, or invitations you have not accepted.

Linear integration

Linear is now available under Integrations. Select Connect and approve access in Linear.
  • The Linear teams section lists the teams your Linear account can see. Sync teams in the ⋯ menu refreshes the list.
  • Each Project chooses the Linear teams it works in from its settings.
  • Cogno picks up new issues, issue assignments, and comments in those teams.
  • Under Agent tools, Read Linear lets agents search and read issues and comments, and Write to Linear lets them create and update issues and add comments. Each can be set to Block, Ask, or Allow.

Live Notion reading and editing

Agents now read Notion live during a run instead of relying on a saved copy of the page. Within a Project, they reach the pages and databases the Project selected and everything under them.
  • Read Notion: search pages, read a page as it is now, read a database’s columns, query its rows with filters and sorts, read comments, and look up Notion users.
  • Write to Notion: create pages and database rows, change properties, edit page content, move a page to the trash, and comment or reply in a discussion.
Both are set under Agent tools on the Notion integration page.

Commands in the chat

Type / in a Task’s chat to see the available commands with their descriptions. Use the arrow keys to move, Enter or Tab to choose, and Escape to close. Commands provided by Claude Code and Codex, and Skills from Cogno, your Workspace, your Project, and your computer, appear in the same list. Supported for both Claude Code and Codex. When the agent compacts a long conversation, the chat now shows Compacting conversation history, then Conversation history compacted.

Sub-tasks and Task board

  • Sub-tasks: in the Task list, sub-tasks appear under their parent, and a chevron on the parent row folds them away. Use Parent task in a Task’s properties to set, change, or clear its parent (No parent), or Open parent task to go to it.
  • Full titles: cards on the board show the whole title instead of cutting it at two lines.
  • Bulk edit on the board: Bulk edit is now available on the board. Select cards with their checkboxes or with Shift-click, then change them together from the bar at the bottom.
  • Finding people and Projects: when the right-click menu lists many people or Projects, it shows Find a person and Find a project to narrow the list.

Model and effort settings

Settings → Computers → Background runs sets how runs that Cogno starts on its own are run.
  • Agent decides which agent to use on a computer that has both Claude Code and Codex.
  • Each agent has its own model and effort, such as Claude Code model and Codex effort. Only the models and effort levels the signed-in agent offers are listed.
The chat box now has an effort picker next to the model picker (Effort for this turn). It shows only the levels the chosen model accepts. Tasks you start yourself use what you pick in the chat box; the Background runs settings do not change it.

Calendar auto-join rules

Settings → Recording → Calendar auto-join adds two switches for the Notetaker’s automatic joining from your calendar. Both are off by default.
  • Skip events only you are on: events with no other guests, even with a video link.
  • Skip invitations you have not accepted: invitations not yet answered or declined. Tentative still joins.

Also in this release

  • Send key: choose Enter or ⌘/Ctrl + Enter to send messages in Settings → Preferences. The other key adds a new line.
  • Messages to a busy Task: when another run is working on the Task, a message you send now waits and starts when that run finishes, instead of failing.
  • Terminals after a restart: a Task’s terminals are restored after Cogno Desktop restarts. If restoring fails, select Retry restoring terminals.
  • Calendar view: Tasks with no due or start date appear above the calendar under No date. Drag one onto a day to set its due date.
  • Quick create: a Later button next to Create Task puts the Task in the backlog without starting it.
  • Members who left: Tasks assigned to someone removed from the Workspace show Assignee left the workspace, so they can be reassigned.
  • Inline HTML in descriptions now blends into the description, follows the light or dark theme, and grows to fit its content.
  • Agent sign-in: Settings → Computers shows whether each agent is Signed in, with a Sign in button.
  • Sleep during runs: on macOS, the computer no longer goes to sleep while an agent is working.
  • Codex history: runs Cogno does with Codex no longer appear in your own Codex history.
  • Meetings: the button that sends the Notetaker to a meeting in progress is now Join a live meeting. When recording on this computer fails, Open recording permission settings takes you to the permission settings.
  • Search in integration settings: Search tools filters the agent tools list, and the member mapping list can be searched by name, user ID, or member.
  • Workspace ID: shown in Settings → General with a copy button.
  • Error IDs: error screens label the ID as Request ID or Error ID, with a copy button to send it to support.
  • Servers: Add a server now offers Set up on the server, which registers a server by running a command on it and entering the registration code, without SSH.
