At a glance
The Teams settings page shows the connected Team and its Microsoft tenant. It also shows your unfinished setup when you return to the Workspace.
Connect one Team to each Workspace. A Team already connected to another
Workspace cannot be connected here. Start importing individual channels after
connecting the Team. Direct messages and group chats are excluded.
Before you start
Open a Workspace where you can view integrations. Starting or resuming setup and disconnecting require permission to manage integrations. Use a member account in the Microsoft tenant for identity verification. You can complete setup in the browser or the Cogno desktop app.Open Microsoft Teams settings

Open the integration
Open Integrations and find Microsoft Teams.

Open its settings
Choose Manage for a connected Team, Resume for unfinished setup, or
Connect when neither exists.

Check the connection
A connected Workspace shows the Team name, Tenant: followed by the
Microsoft tenant name, and Connected. Unfinished setup shows Setup
pending.
Keep an existing tenant-wide connection
An existing tenant-wide connection shows a compatibility explanation, Event listening, the tenant’s Teams, and its users. Its existing message, chat, and member imports continue while the connection and event listening remain active. Cogno does not mix compatibility mode with Team-scoped connections in the same Microsoft tenant. Disconnect every tenant-wide connection for that tenant before connecting an individual Team to any Workspace.Start or resume Microsoft sign-in
Choose Connect, or Resume if unfinished setup is shown. In the browser, allow the popup and sign in to Microsoft. In the Cogno desktop app, sign-in opens in your system browser; after Microsoft redirects you back to Cogno, continue setup in the desktop app. Cogno verifies the account, then displays Admin approval required or Team selection pending. Neither state means a Team is connected. If you close the popup, decline sign-in, or verification expires, the page shows an explanation and lets you try again. When you leave and return, Cogno retrieves your unfinished setup and Resume signs you in again.Request admin approval
When Admin approval required appears, choose Open admin approval to open Microsoft’s approval page. If another person manages the Microsoft tenant, choose Copy approval link and send the copied link to that admin. Cogno checks the result automatically while you wait and when you return to the page, including when the admin uses the link in a different browser. Verified approval changes the status to Team selection pending. Approval links are short-lived. If a link or your Microsoft verification expires, choose Resume and sign in again. Cogno checks whether approval has already been granted and requests it only when needed. You can also close the page and resume the same unfinished setup later. If approval is declined or fails, the page explains the result. Choose Connect to start a new request. If the status check fails, choose Retry.Select and connect a Team

Select one Team
When Team selection pending appears, open Select a Team and choose
the Team to connect. Use Load more Teams if the list has more results.

Confirm the connection
Check the selected Team name and choose Connect Team. The button stays
disabled until you select a Team and while the connection is being saved.

Check the result
The page shows the connected Team name, tenant name, and Connected. The
Integrations list also updates.
Start or stop channel imports
After connecting a Team, Channels shows its channels, their type, and import status. Choose Start importing beside a channel to receive its messages. Choose Stop importing to stop that channel without changing the others.
Cogno refreshes the status after each operation and while a channel is waiting to start. Refresh reloads the list; Load more channels retrieves additional results. If an operation fails, the page checks the current state and shows an explanation beside the channel. A failed list request offers Retry.
Members with view permission can see channel status. Starting, retrying, and stopping imports require permission to manage integrations.
Choose channels for a Project
After loading the Team’s channels, open the Project’s settings and expand Integrations. Enable the Microsoft Teams connection and choose the channels that agents in that Project may read. A message remains unavailable when its channel is not selected, even if the Workspace imports that channel.Control agent read access
The Teams settings page includes Agent tools for the connection. Read Microsoft Teams controls the two read-only tools:- search_teams_messages searches recent stored channel messages, with optional Team, channel, text, and time filters.
- get_teams_thread reads the stored thread around a message returned by the search tool.
